Dr Jeremy Lau

Dr Jeremy Lau is a registered Oral Medicine Specialist who enjoys practising the full scope of Oral Medicine, including the diagnosis and management of Oral Diseases, Orofacial pain, Temporomandibular Disorders and Dental Sleep Medicine. He uses a patient-centred, empathetic, comprehensive and evidence-based approach to achieve the best outcomes for patients.   

Jeremy graduated with a Doctor of Dental Medicine from the University of Western Australia, and subsequently practised general dentistry for several years. He developed an interest in Oral Medicine after being drawn to the holistic approach of the speciality. He later completed a three-year specialist training in Oral Medicine. The training comprised of clinical roles at the Oral Medicine Clinic (Oral Health Centre Western Australia), Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital, and Perth Children’s Hospital and interstate Oral Medicine rotations.

Jeremy’s passion for Oral Medicine continues to grow. He has been involved with teaching Oral Medicine to the Doctor of Dental Medicine students. He also enjoys contributing back to the field of Oral Medicine with research. He has multiple peer-reviewed publications and book chapters, with his latest publications related to adjunctive tools in the diagnosis of oral cancers and oral potentially malignant disorders as well as telehealth in Oral Medicine.

He also values giving back to the community. He has volunteered at Perth’s Homeless Connect and Perth’s Pregnancy and Babies Expo, and has been involved in providing dental treatment to refugees in Perth. He also had the privilege to participate in a dental volunteer trip to Vietnam with the Children Health Aid Team.
