Dr Renae Alford is an Oral Medicine Specialist, having completed a three-year Doctor of Clinical Dentistry (Oral Medicine) degree at the University of Western Australia. She previously graduated with Honours in a Bachelor of Dental Science from UWA and brings more than 30 years of experience as a general dentist, including ownership and management of two large private practices in Perth.
Dr Alford has worked in both the public and private sectors in Australia and overseas, and has contributed to undergraduate dental education at the University of Western Australia. Her specialist training included clinical appointments at Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital, Perth Children’s Hospital, Derbarl Yerrigan Health Service, the Oral Health Centre of WA and interstate Oral Medicine rotations.
Her research interests include orofacial pain and the effects of oral cancer treatment, with contributions to peer-reviewed publications. She is a Fellow of the Oral Medicine Academy of Australasia and a member of the Australian Dental Association.
Dr Alford practises across the full scope of Oral Medicine and is committed to delivering empathetic, patient-centred, evidence-based care to achieve the best possible outcomes for her patients.
